I want tho give
a big THANKS
to Dr. Betsy and
her wonderful staff! They made me feel comfortable
leaving my boy
with them.
I had never left him anywhere before. Thank you
Dr. Geurts for
taking special care
of my Billy,
you have no idea
how much
I appreciate it.
Thank you
for allowing me
to spend time
with him while
he was recovering
and also letting
his mom, Daisey,
come and see him.
Billy is
a special dog,
my companion,
my trailing buddy
and my protector.

Thank you

Cuddles

Cuddles was presented to the Randolph Vet Clinic for evaluation of a broken left front leg that was discovered after she was outside in the yard playing. Cuddles is a 9-year-old female short-hair cat owned by Gene and Rebecca Sauer of Rio, WI.

Examination revealed that Cuddles had a severely damaged left front upper leg bone (humerus) caused by a gunshot. There was an obvious bullet entry on the front of her forelimb and further exam lead to the finding of the bullet lodged under the skin along the top of her spine. The bullet damaged her front leg so severely that the nerves were also damaged and Cuddles was unable to feel or use her limb.

X-rays showed a shattered upper leg bone that was too damaged to consider orthopaedic repair. Cuddles was otherwise in stable condition and the decision was made to amputate her damaged leg. Supportive treatment including pain medication and antibiotics was given immediately.

Cuddles recovered wonderfully following the amputation surgery, and with a little practice is able to get around as well as a cat with all four legs! Cuddles is a brave little kitty to endure the injury that she had! Thank you, Gene and Rebecca, for giving us the opportunity to care for your charished family pet. We hope she gives you many more years of happiness!!
